About Dr. Jenks

Dr. Shane Jenks was born and raised in Blackfoot, ID.   While completing his Bachelor’s degree at BYU-Idaho he met his future wife (Ashlee), a midwestern girl with family ties to the Kansas City area.  Dr. Jenks attended dental school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.  While in dental school, he was awarded a Health Professions Scholarship through the US Air Force.  Following dental school, spent the next five years serving on active duty serving being stationed at multiple bases around the world (Texas, Okinawa (Japan), and Idaho.  Although he loved his time in the military, Dr. Jenks decided to transition to civilian life in order to complete his dream of becoming a pediatric dentist.  He completed his pediatric dental residency training at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.  He remains an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD).  In his spare time Dr. Jenks enjoys being active and can often be found running along the streets near his home.  He and his family also enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and traveling to new places.  He loves serving the children of the St. Joseph area and surrounding communities.  He always strives to provide each child with a unique and friendly experience that helps them overcome fears and instills confidence in improving their oral health with each and every appointment.
